Today we own and use more devices than ever. Laptops, tablet computers, smart phones, smart watches have become an essential part of our personal and professional workflows. In the field of HCI research, this is known as cross-device computing. Whether we are mirroring our phone to a smart TV or using multiple monitors at our desk, we are trying to find ways to make such cross-device interactions seamless.
Researchers and experts have explored novel techniques and interactions for cross-device computing, since long. But the tools that are mostly available to prototype such interactions, require a certain level of programming experience which pose as an entry barrier for non-technical designers. This is the gap we are trying to fill with ExemplAR: a no-code prototyping tool aiming to aid designers in their prototyping workflow by utilising low-fidelity methods like paper prorotyping and Wizard of Oz.
